When we talk about newborn photography, we often hear that the “perfect time” is within the first 14 days of life. While those early days are truly special, real life doesn’t always follow a schedule — and that’s perfectly okay.
Many parents simply can’t make it to a photoshoot within the first two weeks. Recovery after birth, health reasons, family circumstances, or just needing more time to adjust to life with a new baby can all play a role. And none of this should mean missing out on beautiful, meaningful photographs.
Newborn Sessions Don’t End After Two Weeks
I photograph babies of many different ages, not only those under 14 days old. Babies who are 4 weeks, 6 weeks, or even 2 months old still deserve magical images and a keepsake that will last a lifetime.
Every baby is unique. Every stage is precious. And every family deserves photographs that tell their story.
With extensive experience working with older babies, I know how to gently guide these sessions so they remain calm, safe, and beautifully styled. While I can’t always promise a session that looks exactly like a classic sleepy newborn shoot, I can promise something just as important:
✨ Beautiful, emotional, timeless photographs✨ A relaxed and baby-led experience✨ Images that often look very close to traditional newborn photos
Many older babies still sleep deeply, curl naturally, and allow for soft, delicate setups. Others may be more awake — and those bright eyes, tiny expressions, and sweet details add a different kind of magic to your gallery.
There Is No “Too Late”
If you missed the first two weeks, please don’t feel that the moment has passed. It hasn’t.Your baby — at any age — is still worthy of being documented in a way that feels artistic, gentle, and full of love.
These photographs will grow in value with time. One day, they will be the proof of just how small your baby once was, how tiny their fingers were, and how deeply they were loved.
Thinking About Booking?
If your baby is older than two weeks and you’re unsure whether a session is still possible — reach out. I’ll always be honest, guide you, and create the most beautiful experience possible for your family.
