Ayah's winter cakeland

As a photographer and a mother of four, I often find myself reflecting on how quickly time seems to fly. Children grow up in the blink of an eye, and it feels like just yesterday I was capturing newborn portraits of little Ayah. Now, a whole year has passed, and I had the joy of welcoming her back to my studio for her first birthday cake smash and splash session.

Ayah’s session was extra special because of her winter birthday. Her parents and I decided on a pink, wintery, Christmas-inspired setup, which turned out to be absolutely perfect for her. The delicate snowflakes, twinkling lights, and soft pink tones created a magical scene that matched her sweet personality. She looked absolutely stunning, and every photo radiates the festive joy of the season.

The cake smash part of the session was undoubtedly Ayah’s favorite part. She dove right into the beautifully decorated cake, her tiny hands grabbing chunks of frosting with delight. Her giggles and cheeky smiles as she explored the texture and taste of her cake were priceless. Those moments of pure joy and curiosity are what make these sessions so unforgettable.

The splash part, however, didn’t quite capture Ayah’s heart in the same way. Despite the warm water and plenty of bubbles, she wasn’t a fan of the tub time. In fact, I managed to capture one teary-eyed photo that perfectly encapsulates her feelings about the splash session! While it wasn’t what we expected, even these moments are precious, reminding us that every child is unique and full of surprises.

As I look back at Ayah’s session, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. Watching her grow from a tiny newborn into a lively one-year-old has been a privilege. It’s a poignant reminder of how fleeting these early years are. Trust me, as a mom to four, I’ve seen firsthand how fast the seasons of childhood pass. Capturing these milestones is so important because these photographs become cherished memories, frozen in time, that you’ll treasure forever.
